JETRAD Monte Carlo

Description:

JETRAD is a next-to-leading order Monte Carlo for inclusive 1-jet and 2-jet production at Hadron Colliders. Jet algorithms and distributions are build in numerically. Using this program one can predict for instance the one-jet inclusive transverse momentum distribution at Hadron Colliders. This enables one to determine the strong coupling constant over a wide range of transverse energies (or equivalently a wide range of partonic center of mass energies). The CDF run 1a data demonstrates nicely the running of the strong coupling constant Better is to view the inverse of the coupling constant as a function of the log of the transverse energy. In this graph the coupling constant is fitted to the data in the range of 30 GeV to 200 GeV for 1-, 2- and 3-loop evolution of the strong coupling constant.
The software:
The JETRAD program consists of two files jetrad.f and jetlib.f
Note: One needs the parton density function files .
